Digital printing co Jettable raises $6.5m

Among the investors was US-based Electronics for Imaging.

Israeli print technology start-up Jettable Ltd., a graduate of the Targetech Innovation Center, has raised $6.5 million from US digital printing company Electronics for Imaging Inc. (Nasdaq: EFII), and Italian company Sicer, a supplier of paints and varnishes to the ceramics industry.

Jettable develops and produces novel printers and inkjet fluids for the ceramic and tile decoration. The company, which currently employs 13 people, has raised $600,000 in seed capital from StartVest, the operator of Targetech and a further $1 million from StartVest and other investors during 2006-2007.

Jettable will use the investment from EFI and Sicer for the development of the next generation of digital printers for ceramic decoration, and other inkjet systems.

Jettable founder and CEO Warren Green said, "We are pleased that EFI has identified our technological breakthrough as an important asset which will join the outstanding range of products it markets. We are happy to be able to join forces with EFI and Sicer to realize our vision - becoming the market leader in digital printing technologies for ceramic decoration."
