The FDA approved seven polymeric drains for the company's endoscope for salivary gland stones surgery.
Sialo Technology Israel Ltd. (TASE: SALO) has obtained US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) marketing approval for its polymeric drain used to support endoscopic surgery of salivary gland stones. The polymeric drain is a disposable component for the company's endoscope.
The FDA has already approved the balloon used to expand the salivary gland stones to prep them for surgical removal.
The polymeric drain drains the saliva after surgery, preventing blockages until healing is complete. Sialo obtained FDA approval for seven types of polymeric drains. The company said that the approval would enable to begin widespread marketing in the US soon. The company already markets the disposable components of the system in Europe.
