The company said he would be replaced temporarily by Dr. Elkan Gamzu.
Drug development company Epix Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq:EPIX) announced yesterday that its CEO Dr. Michael Kauffman was stepping down. The company said he would be replaced temporarily by Dr. Elkan Gamzu. Epix's announcement did not offer much in the way of details but noted that Kauffman was leaving to "pursue other opportunities."
Gamzu is a familiar figure to investors in Nasdaq-listed Israeli biomed companies. He previously replaced Haim Aviv as CEO of another drug development company, Pharmos Corp.
