Self-applied blood test co Rapidx raises $1m

The company's device sits on the person's finger, extracts a drop of blood and conducts tests on it.

Self-applied blood test development start-up Rapidx Ltd. has raised $1 million in seed financing from TechnoPlus Ventures Ltd. (TASE:TNPV), MedVest, and private investors. Until now, the company was funded by the Office of the Chief Scientist's Tnufa Start-Up Promotion Program.

Rapidx's device sits on the person's finger, extracts a drop of blood and conducts tests on it. Radidx CEO Nili Tamir says that the device fits all fingers.

Rapidx already has a patent for the device, which is still under development. The primary target market is pharmacies. Positive test results indicate that the person should visit the doctor for more thorough and precise tests.
