Gaydamak plans Jerusalem mayoral bid

He will run in the the upcoming local elections in November.

“IDF Radio" (Galei Zahal) reports that Arcadi Gaydamak will run for mayor of Jerusalem in the upcoming local elections in November. He has appointed Arie Shomer as chief of staff. Shomer, who previously served as the director general of the President's Office, was the chief of staff for the election of current mayor, Uri Lupoliansky.

Gaydamak, a Russian-Israeli billionaire, has numerous interests in Jerusalem, including ownership of the Betar Jerusalem Football Club and the Bikur Holim Hospital.
