Passengers will be charged an extra charge for a seat near the emergency exit.
Hebrew daily "Yediot Ahronot" reports that El Al Israel Airlines (TASE: ELAL) is to charge passengers more for comfortable seats. Passengers will pay an extra $39 each way for a seat near the emergency exit on flights to Europe, and $59 on Transatlantic routes.
The advantage in having a sear near the emergency exit is the fact that the seats in the row in front of them are not reclining seats, thereby giving passengers more leg room.
El Al did not previously have any policy on seat allocation.
