Contractor provides solar collectors as new project standard

SolarIT Doral will install photovoltaic receptors on a Bonei Hazafon residential project in Beer Yaakov.

Photovoltaic receptor maker SolarIT Doral Ltd. will collaborate with contractor Bonei Hazafon Ltd. to install solar panels for electricity on the roofs of a residential project that the company is building in Beer Yaakov.

Bonei Hazafon is building 100 apartments in two high-rises. The photovoltaic receptors will generate three kilowatt/hours. On the basis of Public Utilities Authority (Electricity) tariffs, the residents will be able to sell this electricity produced to Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) (TASE: ELEC.B22) at NIS 2.01 per kw/h, four times the IEC tariff.

Doral Group CEO David Davidovich said that the solar receptors would be delivered to the project residents at no additional cost, and that revenue from electricity would finance building committee fees (vaad bayit). He added that this revenue would exceed NIS 12,000 a year. If the residents agree, more solar receptors can be added to boost output to 15 kilowatts, which will produce 250,000 kw/h a year and generate NIS 50,000 revenue.
