Tadiran Telecom CEO steps down

Yaakov Bantai is apparently leaving because of disagreements with the company's controlling shareholders.

The CEO of Tadiran Telecom Business Solutions Ltd. Yaakov Bantai is stepping down apparently over disagreements with controlling shareholders Tiv Taam Holdings 1 Ltd. (TASE:TTAM), controlled by Yaakov (Kobi) Trebitsch and Amit Berger. They are expected to appoint an acting CEO in Bantai's stead or they may ask him to stay on for six months in accordance with the terms of his contract.

Bantai is an industry veteran. He frequently sought to sell Tadiran Telecom as Israel's telecommunications industry changed. These efforts included partnerships with Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR), Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL), and Xfone Inc. (AMEX:XFN; TASE:XFN).
