19 applications have been approved, 230 are still pending.
The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor Investment Promotion Center has approved 19 applications for priority grants for the opening or expansion of factories. A further 230 applications are still pending. In all, the Investment Promotion Center approved NIS 20-30 million in grants. Aside from these 250 applications, a further 150 non-priority applications from large factories are also awaiting approval.
The backlog has been caused by the wait for the reclassification of national priority areas, as well revised qualifying conditions for small factories in outlying regions.
Among those that received grants are Jerusalem-based Herley General Microwave Israel Ltd., Arkal Filtration Systems Ltd. of Kibbutz Beit Zera in the Jordan Valley, Hanita Coatings Ltd. of Kibbutz Hanita, Rion Ltd. of Kibbutz Cabri, Migdal Ha'Emek-based PCB Technologies Ltd., and Neirosta Zafon Ltd. from the Bar Lev Industrial Park at Misgav.
