Amdocs gets new Comcast deal

Comcast has 24.6 million cable customers and 14.4 million high-speed Internet customers.

Customer service and billing software developer Amdocs (NYSE: DOX) announced this week that broadband cable Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK), has licensed new business and operational support (BSS/OSS) products from Amdocs. Under the new agreement, Comcast will deploy customer care, billing and OSS solutions based on Amdocs CES 7.5, its new portfolio of products.

Amdocs has provided longstanding support to Comcast's video, high-speed Internet and voice services. In addition to billing and customer care, Comcast also will deploy Amdocs CES - Cramer OSS 7.5 to support its network resource management and network planning processes.

"We look forward to continuing our relationship and developing new ways in which to better serve our customers."

Comcast has 24.6 million cable customers, 14.4 million high-speed Internet customers, and 5.6 million Comcast Digital Voice customers.

Shares in Amdocs were down 3.6% in NYSE trading to $26.35, reflecting a market cap of $5.45 billion.
