The deal is with Ontario's ATX
Video and networking processor developer Arcos Technologies Ltd. will provide its system-on-chip (SoC) transmission platform to Canada's ATX Inc. (TSX: ATX) in a NIS 4 million contract. The system enables the integration of local digital multimedia channels (such as security, information, and entertainment networks) with a building's existing in-house cable network, allowing residents to watch to watch via their set-top boxes both the channels broadcast by their cable provider and local in-house channels.
North American cable operators are mandated to provide this service as part of the telecommunications packages with landlords. Arcos's present contract is the latest in a series of deals with other cable operators in recent months.
Arcos CEO Yariv Reches, CTO Avi Eliyahu, and three others founded the company in 2004, and joined the incubator, Xenia Venture Capital Ltd. (TASE:XENA), the following year.
