The marketing and psychology panel at the Israel Business Conference, presented by “Globes”, Israel’s business newspaper, will focus on client decision-making in an era of over-stimulation. Speakers will discuss how to influence today’s clients, the psychology behind the consumer’s decision, how to stand out in advertising in an era of over-stimulation, and how to switch from image-based marketing to experience-based marketing.

Speakers include Crispin Porter + Bogusky co-chairman Chuck Porter. He joined the agency in 1988 as the creative director and partner after a long career as a prize-winning independent copywriter. Three years later the agency had doubled its activity, which has included campaigns for Burger King, the BMW Mini, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, and the “Truth” anti-smoking campaign. Mr. Porter is the chairman of the Creative Committee of the American Association of Advertising Agencies in New York, and has been named one of Inc. magazine’s Most Fascinating Entrepreneurs.
Also speaking at the panel will be Internet Real Estate Group co-founder and CEO Mike “Zappy” Zapolin. He established online brands such as Diamond.com, Sweepstakes.com, Podcast.com, and Chocolate.com. Zapolin began his career at Drexel Burnham Lambert, and later joined Bear Stearns, becoming one of the youngest vice-presidents in the more than 100-year history of that firm. Zapolin is a graduate of Harvard Business School, and of the Harvard Business School Owner President Management Program.
Columbia Business School associate professor of business Jonathan Levav will also speak at the panel. Professor Levav's expertise is in consumer behavior, and his research focuses on the psychology of decision making and judgment. Professor Levav has received the Hillel Einhorn New Investigator Award, granted bi-annually by the Society for Judgment and Decision Making, and is a past winner of the Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence at Columbia Business School.
The Israel Business Conference takes on added significance this year as it explores political and economic trends as the world faces a global economic crisis. Leaders of the international business community, representatives from academic and research institutions, and top executives of major companies will attend. Many will travel to Israel specifically for the conference.
Participants will present lectures and participate in panels focusing on the global economic crisis and its repercussions.
