BMC Software layoffs include 25 in Israel

The layoffs will be in all departments and that they will be made by the end of the year.

BMC Software Corporation (NYSE: BMC) announced on Friday that it will lay off 6% of its global workforce, about 350 of its 5,800 employees. 25 of the layoffs will be in Israel. The company said that the layoffs will be in all departments and that they will be made by the end of the year.

In September, BMC president and CEO Robert Beauchamp told "Globes", "The only thing we won't cut is R&D. Companies that invest in technology development during a slowdown will become the leaders when they emerge from the economic hard times."

BMC's executives seem to have changed their opinion in the three months since that interview.

BMC Israel said in response, "As BMC Software announced, the company is reviewing various restructuring options. The planning process is at its height, and it is not possible to make specific comments about Israel."
