Sources inform ''Globes'' that Flextronics Israel Ltd., the country's largest electronics assembly contractor, today fired 200 employees at its Midgal Ha'Emek plant, mostly temporary workers. The company, a subsidiary of Flextronics Inc. (Nasdaq:FLEX), also has offices in Petah Tikva and Ofakim.
The layoffs were made when employees returned from a week-long vacation. They were made in an effort to adjust the company's labor force to its work orders for the coming months and the market situation.
Flextronics Israel general manager Tzahi Rodrig confirmed the report.
