Two Israelis on WEF Young Global Leaders list

The list of 230 names includes entrepreneur Yair Goldfinger and Arison Holdings CEO Efrat Peled.

There is an impressive Israeli showing in the list of Young Global Leaders published by the World Economic Forum today. The list of 230 names includes entrepreneur and investor Yair Goldfinger and Arison Holdings CEO Efrat Peled.

The list is of leaders from all over the world who have won recognition for their "professional accomplishments, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world." Among the names on this year's list from the world of technology are Chad Hurley, co-founder and CEO of YouTube, Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook, and Kevin Rose, founder of Digg.

Among celebrity names on the list are singer Chris Martin, racing driver Michael Schumacher, and golfer Tiger Woods. Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, and Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook featured on the list in previous years.

Among other things, Goldfinger founded TVeez, which is developing a search engine that will help marketing people formulate a relevant message, and Strategy Runner and Dotomi, which specialize in marketing solutions.

Goldfinger invested in Knockatv, which closed last year, and was part of Israel's greatest ever Internet success, ICQ.

Goldfinger and Peled were chosen from a list of 5,000 candidates.
