S. Shlomo Holdings Ltd. (TASE:SHLD) is preparing to import vehicles. The company held a cornerstone laying ceremony for the Group's new logistics center in Zerafin near Rishon Lezion. Shlomo Holdings is investing NIS 100 million (not including land) in the new center which will cover 60 dunam (acres).
The logistics center will include the company's headquarters, currently located in Kiryat Aryeh in Petach Tikva, garage logistics, a lot for delivering new vehicles to New Kopel C.A.L., the Group's private leasing company, and a gas station. The logistics center, which is scheduled for completion in 18 months, will employ 800 people.
Shlomo Holdings chairman Shlomo Shmeltzer told "Globes", "The center has been planned to provide future logistical services, not only for rental and leasing activities, but also to support vehicle imports including a site for PDI vehicle storage and delivery facilities, similar to those operated by regular vehicle importers.
The center will enable the Shlomo Group to expand into vehicle imports including those of Chinese carmakers.
