Channel 2 franchisee Keshet Broadcasting Ltd. and Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq: MSFT) have signed a long-term cooperation agreement, under which MSN Israel will display content from Keshet's portal Mako, including texts, video clips, and popular television shows aired by Keshet. Mako will install Microsoft technological services on its site.
MSN Israel users will be able to view clips of TV shows such as "Wonderful Country", "Big Brother", and "A Star is Born". However, because the other Channel 2 franchisee, Reshet Television Ltd., has a content sharing agreement with Hebrew daily "Yediot Ahronot" portal ynet, MSN Israel users will not be able to view programs aired by Reshet, and will only be able to do so by going to Mako.
Microsoft Israel online division manager Adi Eyal said, "This cooperation agreement reflects the consolidation of Internet and television into a single medium. It takes this trend one step further; it is a collaboration between the portals of two of Israel's top sites in their fields both in terms of ratings and technological innovation."
