Sources inform ''Globes'' that long-term intravenous catheter developer Flexicath Ltd. has signed a distribution agreement with Sinopharm Medicine Holding Co. Ltd., China's largest medical devices distributor. The contract is worth a few million dollars.
Gross, Kleinhendler, Hodak, Halevy, Greenberg & Co. and The TBN Group Ltd., which represents Sinopharm in Israel, mediated the deal.
During a visit to Israel in August 2008, Sinopharm Healthcare Services Division general manager Wu Jianfeng told "Globes" that the company was seeking to collaborate with Israeli manufacturers of small, innovative and mobile products.
Flexicath, based at Misgav Technology Center, is financed by Washington DC-based merchant bank The Zitelman Group. The company has already obtained US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) marketing approval for its catheters, and is now preparing to launch sales there.
