Road 41 will become an extension of Road 7 and link Ashdod Port with Road 6.
Road 41 linking the Kannot junction near Gedera with Bnei Darom junction at the eastern entrance to Ashdod is to be upgraded and widened. After the work is completed Road 41 will become Road 7, linking the existing section of Road 7 - between Road 6 (the Cross Israel Highway) and Gedera-with Ashdod Port.
The subcommittee of the National Council for Planning and Construction of National Infrastructures has approved detailed plans for the upgrading of Road 41 so that work can begin.
The plan to upgrade Road 41 between Road 42 to the west and Road 40 to the east is part of the national master plan to build lateral west-east highways and will include new interchanges to replace junctions at Bet Rabban and Kannot (Gedera). A new interchange on Road 40 south of Gedera at Hefetz Haim will also be built.
The planned upgrade will give Road 41 three lanes in each direction.
