392 residents of Moshav Nir Galim near Ashdod are suing Agan Chemicals Ltd., a unit of Makhteshim Agan Industries Ltd. (TASE: MAIN) and its managers for NIS 60 million damages. The residents claim that the factory causes noxious smells, noise and severe air pollution and are also requesting an order to instruct the factory to stop the pollution.

The suit was filed by Advs. Orit Marom-Albek, Efrat Elias and Einat Davidson of Shibolet & Co. who claim that the unrelenting noise, smell and polluted air are damaging the health of the plaintiffs and because the factory uses dangerous substances in its production process.

Agan Chemicals is yet to submit its defense.
