Nokia Siemens Networks will include Alvarion's mobile WiMAX solutions, and not just fixed WiMAX in systems sold to customers.
WiMAX equipment maker Alvarion Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALVR; TASE: ALVR) has expanded its OEM agreement with communications equipment maker Nokia Siemens Networks to include Alvarion's mobile WiMAX solutions, and not just fixed WiMAX.
Nokia Siemens, which has reduced its WiMAX R&D budget, will resell Alvarion's systems as part of systems sold to customers.
In contrast to Alvarion's agreement with Nortel Networks Inc. last year, the OEM agreement with Nokia Siemens does not include investment in joint development.
Alvarion's share rose 3.2% at the opening on Nasdaq today to $4.55. The share rose 5% on the TASE to NIS 17.92.
