Sunday completes school solar set-ups

Sunday's orders backlog for the next three years is estimated at NIS 1 billion.

Sunday Solar Energy Ltd. and Rand Metal and Enamel Industries Ltd. have completed the installation of photovoltaic solar energy systems on the roofs of the Golomb and Rokach schools in Tel Aviv, three months after winning a Tel Aviv-Jaffa Economic Development Authority tender to install them. Six companies bid in the tender.

This was the first tender in Israel for the installation of small solar energy systems at schools. The Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality intends to expand the program to more schools in the city.

Tel Aviv-Jaffa Economic Development Authority CEO Sharon Keren said, "We consider this project to be the first phase in the establishment of a large as part of Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai's policy to develop clean energy sources. We are also considering wind turbines for generating power."

Sunday's orders backlog for the next three years is estimated at NIS 1 billion.
