El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE:ELAL) has this week expanded its home check-in service to all the cities along the coast north of Tel Aviv including Netanya, to Haifa, the Krayot and the Yokne'am region.
The pre-flight home service, which includes check-in and security for baggage, is available from 24 hours until six hours before a flight, either at home, the office or any place that the traveler chooses. The service can be ordered from the moment the ticket is purchased until 48 hours before the flight.
As part of the service, staff visit the home of the passenger and carry out a full security check. At the end of the home-visit, the traveler is given a boarding card and the baggage, after being weighed, is taken for transportation to Ben Gurion Airport. If there is an excess to the weight allowance, then the passenger is charged on the spot.
The passenger is then able to travel to the airport with just hand baggage and proceed directly to passport control.
The service, which is operated by Shahar Group, costs $79 per person or $100 for a couple. For Matmid frequent travelers the service costs $21 per person and 100 travelers points.
