Riders will protest steep insurance rate hikes.
The motorcycle strike force is intensifying its struggle. Tomorrow morning at 7 am, hundreds will make a protest drive on the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem highway (Road 1) from the Latrun Interchange to the capital. Judging by the previous protest drive from Herzliya to Jerusalem, travel to Jerusalem tomorrow morning will be more clogged than usual.
The protest drive has not been coordinated with the Israel Police. The motorcycle strike force says that attempts to coordinate the protest with the police failed. "The alternatives proposed by the police were inapplicable, illogical, and irrelevant," said the motorcycle strike force.
The motorcycle strike force is protesting plans by Supervisor of Capital Markets, Insurance and Savings Yadin Antebi to greatly increase insurance rates for motorcycles and scooters and what the motorcyclists are calling the "silence of Minister of Finance Yuval Steinitz".
