Ness Technologies launches two anti-terror systems

The systems were unveiled at the Israel Defense International Army & Police Exhibition in Tel Aviv.

Ness Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: NSTC; TASE: NSTC) unveiled two anti-terrorism and crime systems at the 2009 Israel Defense International Army & Police Exhibition (ISDEF), which opened today in Tel Aviv. The exhibition will continue through Wednesday.

The first system is Area Smart Monitoring (ASM), and the second is The Sixth Sense, a system that identifies suspicious persons in an urban scene. ASM builds intelligence situation pictures for urban areas, based on a real-time data fusion and sensor management engine that integrates information acquired in real-time with analyzed intelligence information, providing critical information to homeland security, law enforcement and public safety agencies. ASM identifies and tracks suspicious activities of individuals or groups, and helps prevent terror and criminal acts, as well as capture suspects after an event has occurred. The system generates alerts when suspected activities are detected.

The information is received from various sources, such as cellular location systems, license plate recognition systems, video cameras equipped with automatic content analysis algorithms, GPS location systems and human observers.

The Sixth Sense is an automatic system that alerts the end user to abnormal patterns of motion. Video cameras monitor and automatically detect and track all moving objects (such as humans, animals, and vehicles). Each trajectory is carefully examined in order to determine whether it is normal or not.

Ness Technologies Technologies & Systems Group president Michael Zinderman, President said, "Terror and crime in urban areas are a growing threat to public safety in many countries. ASM and The Sixth Sense enable continuous monitoring and information collection, both in routine and emergency times, in order to spot unusual behavior and identify potential threats."

Ness's share rose 0.9% on Nasdaq yesterday to $7.65, giving a market cap of $294 million. The share rose 0.8% by early afternoon on the TASE today to NIS 28.85.
