Motorcyclists clog Tel Aviv highway

Domino's Pizza, whose drivers participated in the protest, donated 75 pizzas to riders.

1,600 motorcyclists clogged up the Ayalon Highway in Tel Aviv by driving slowly south from Hasira Interchange in Herzliya to the exits to downtown Tel Aviv from 7:30 am. The protest drive has caused massive traffic jams.

Dozens of Pizza Hut and Domino's Pizza delivery drivers, who use motor scooters, joined the protest drive. Domino's Pizza donated 75 pizzas, which were distributed to drivers stuck in the traffic, along with explanatory material.

The leadership of motorcyclists' battle decided not to back down in its fight against the hike in mandatory insurance premiums for two-wheeled motor vehicles, even though the Knesset Finance Committee agreed two weeks ago to postpone implementation of the hike.

Tomorrow, 120 motorcyclists, equaling the number of MKs, will attend a special Knesset plenum session on the insurance rate hike, which was initiated by Supervisor of Capital Markets, Insurance and Savings Yadin Antebi.
