Mellanox announces Taiwanese deals

Mellanox VP John Monson: Oil and gas, financial services, engineering, and R&D industries are eagerly deploying high-performance computing solutions.

InfiniBand developer Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:MLNX; TASE:MLNX) has announced three deals with Taiwanese computer components manufacturers ASUSTek Computer Inc. (Taipei: 2357) and Micro-Star International Inc.Ltd. (Taipei: 2377) as well as Taiwan's National University of Defense Technology.

ASUS has launched its half size serverboard that includes Mellanox's Mellanox's 40-gigabyte InfiniBand Host Channel Adapter to support Landed-on-Motherboard applications. Micro-Star has chosen Mellanox's ConnectX 40-gigabyte InfiniBand Host Channel Adapter for the same purpose. The serverboards are designed for oil and gas, engineering, and R&D industries that need large bandwidth to run intensive modeling and data processing application.

The National University of Defense Technology’s TianHe program will use the ConnectX for for Asia’s first Petascale cluster

Mellanox closed at $18.48 on Nasdaq yesterday, giving a market cap of $592 million. The share rose 3% on the TASE to NIS 71.
