SupportSpace, which provides remote technical support services, has raised $10 million in a third fund raising round. The round was led by US fund Emergence Capital Partners, with the participation of existing investors BRM Capital and Gemini Israel. Since it was founded in 2005, the company has raised some $24 million, including the current round.
SupportSpace was founded by its CEO, Yair Grinlinger, and its president, Doron Elgressy. It helps companies provide their customers with remote technical support services. The company's platform is based on an SaaS (software as a service) model, and it has a virtual workforce, experts who provide services to customers.
SupportSpace in effect mediates between the companies and the experts. "The funds we have raised are earmarked for support for new customers, and for completing products," Elgressy said.
The current round comes during a good period for the company, but SupportSpace has known less easy times. At the end of 2008, it laid off 13 of its 34 employees. The current workforce is 40-strong.
