On Friday, the leading candidate for the job, Migdal Insurance CIO Anat Levin withdrew her candidacy.
With no replacement found yet, Supervisor of Capital Markets, Insurance and Savings Yadin Antebi will stay on in his post for another month.
Minister of Finance Yuval Steinitz will need to soon reach a decision about who will be the next Supervisor of Capital Markets, Insurance and Savings. On Friday, the leading candidate for the job, Migdal Insurance CIO Anat Levin withdrew her candidacy, and Steinitz was reportedly set to appoint a temporary Capital Markets Supervisor to replace Yadin Antebi.
Market sources believe that candidates to replace Antebi include Deputy Capital Markets Supervisor Yoav Ben-Orr and Senior Deputy Supervisor Arik Peretz.
Antebi will eventually go on a mandated 12-month cooling-off period. There was a possibility that he will change his mind, and stay on for a brief extended period to give Steinitz time to find a replacement.
