AudioCodes launches new mobile VoIP solution

VMAS clients support leading mobile operating systems, such as Symbian, Windows Mobile, and Apple OS.

AudioCodes Ltd. (Nasdaq: AUDC; TASE: AUDC) today launched launch of VMAS - a new family of mobile VoIP solutions which comprises a variety of mobile soft clients and a client management System (CMS) for mobile operating systems and smartphones. AudioCodes' VMAS CMS provides carriers with a proven client distribution and back-end management system.

VMAS clients support leading mobile operating systems, such as Symbian, Windows Mobile, and Apple OS. VMAS is currently available for iPhone/iPod Touch, Nokia, Samsung, HTC and other smartphones.

AudioCodes cites a new market research report, In-Stat, which that mobile VoIP applications will generate $32.2 billion in annual revenue from more than 278 million registered users worldwide by 2013.

AudioCodes VP marketing and product management Lior Aldema said, "We believe that mobile VoIP will become dominant in the next few years with the growing number of Smartphones and increased processing power and data availability. Service providers are looking for new value added services to increase revenues while allowing end users to make low cost calls at significantly improved voice quality."

AudioCodes' share closed at $2.44 on Nasdaq yesterday, giving a market cap of $98 million. The share rose 2.9% on the TASE today to NIS 9.40.
