The firm reached the deal after presenting at the DWG exhibition.
Mazor Surgical Technologies Ltd. (TASE:MZOR) has sold a SpineAssist system for spinal surgery to the MRI Hospital in Munich, which specializes in spinal surgical procedures. The sale followed a presentation of the SpineAssist at the German Spine Conference (DWG) last week. The company did not disclose the value of the deal.
At the DWG, Mazor presented both its SpineAssist and GO-LIF (Guided Oblique Lumbar Inter-body Fusion) products in a series of five lectures by German surgeons who use the SpineAssist system. This was the first presentation of GO-LIF as a commercial product, and Mazor expects to begin sales in Germany during the first quarter of 2010.
Mazor has hired an additional salesperson in Germany as part of the company's expansion of operations in the country. The company intends to hire another salesperson in Germany in early 2010, bringing its sales force there to four.
Mazor's share rose 4.2% by midday today to NIS 7.08, giving a market cap of NIS 140 million.
