Ehud Olmert appointed chairman of Livnat Group

The former prime minister will mainly be involved in business development, and in efforts to expand the business overseas.

Former prime minister Ehud Olmert has been appointed chairman of the Avraham Livnat Group, owned by the Livnat family, a partner of Nochi Dankner in IDB Holding Corp. (TASE:IDBH). Olmert will mainly be involved in business development, and in particular efforts to expand the business overseas.

Sources close to the Livnat family told "Globes" that the decision to appoint Olmert was made several months ago. The sources said, "The idea was conceived because Bondy (Avraham), the father of the Livnat family is over 85, and he is the only one handling the family-owned companies, which are a large business."

His three sons are engaged in other activities.

The source said, "Avraham approached Olmert and offered him the job and he asked for time to consider the offer. After a while he gave a positive response. For the past few months Olmert has been visiting the business to observe and get ready."
