Intel Israel employees awarded bonus

In addition to the bonus, workers will receive a $1,000 "thank you" grant.

Intel Corporation (Nasdaq: INTC) published good results for the fourth quarter of 2009 and the year as a whole, including a full-year net profit of $4.4 billion on $35 billion revenue. The results were good enough to prompt the award of bonuses to employees.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that Intel Israel Ltd. employees can expect to receive a bonus equal to 2.078 monthly salaries, as well as a $1,000 "thank you" grant, which the company decided on last month. The bonus is considered quite large, not only in terms of companies in general, but also for Intel in particular, which is known to award large bonuses in good years, but is far less generous in bad times.

Intel has about 80,000 employees worldwide, including 7,000 in Israel. Intel Israel general manager Maxine Fassberg is also a VP at Intel Corporation. The company's employee bonus plan is based on its profit and operating performance for the year. The model also takes into account the performance of Intel Israel, which is known as the "Israeli bonus".

Intel Israel's spokesman declined to comment on the bonus, saying only, "Bonuses at Intel are given to all employees, and reflect the company's success and profits."
