Greentops to build solar energy facilities on paper co roof

The two photovoltaic systems will have a total output of 1.2 megawatts.

Solar energy systems integrator Greentops Ltd. will install two mid-sized photovoltaic arrays, with a total output of 1.2 megawatts on the roof of Shaniv Paper Industry Ltd. (TASE: SHAN) in Ofakim at an investment of NIS 20 million. The system is based on photovoltaic panels built by Germany's Schott Solar AG, whose systems are used by the aerospace industry for satellites.

The Ministry of National Infrastructures recently set feed-in-tariffs for up to a quota of 300 megawatts for mid-sized solar energy systems (between 51 kilowatts and 5 megawatts).

Greentops CEO Moti Avni said that, since the quota was announced, installations of mid-sized solar energy systems have exceeded NIS 100 million. Greentops recently sized ten contracts to install these systems at kibbutz and moshav factories.
