Holyland suspects sent to house arrest

The suspects include the former Jerusalem city engineer.

The Rishon LeZion Magistrates Court today released on bail to ten days of home arrest several key suspects in the Holyland corruption case, including Hillel Cherney, Avigdor Kelner, and former Jerusalem city engineer Uri Sheetrit.

Former prime minister Ehud Olmert's bureau chief Shula Zaken's attorney, Adv. Micha Fitman, will this afternoon hold a press conference, which he says will be "dramatic". Fitman recently met with Zaken in the US. He is expected to comment on allegations of Zaken's, involvement in the Holyland and other cases.

If Zaken foregoes her right to silence, which she has kept in more than one interrogation in the past, she may disclose many incriminating items in the Holyland case, and possibly obtain a better deal in order to mitigate her several other indictments.
