ITGI stent success in renal artery procedure

The procedure was carried out at Ospedale Sant’Anna Hospital in Como, Italy.

ITGI Medical Ltd. (TASE:ITGI) today reported success in the first experimental implant of its AneuGraft stent in a renal artery.

The procedure was carried out by Dr. Filippo Russo at Ospedale Sant’Anna Hospital in Como, Italy. The implant improved the renal artery's function and immediate improvement in kidney function by allowing regular blood flow, thereby saving the patient's life.

ITGI utilizes a proprietary pericardium covered stent platform of living tissue in its stents to recreate the lumen, or channel, of a blood vessel.

The experimental procedure was part of the clinical trial of the AneuGraft Over & Under stent, part of the normal approval procedure for a breakthrough technology. The AneuGraft stent has already been successfully implanted in brain and knee arteries. On the basis these successes, ITGI plans to extend use of its AneuGraft and Over & Under stents for urology.

ITGI's share price rose 6.1% by early afternoon to NIS 0.66, giving a market cap of NIS 50 million.
