Former HOT Telecommunication Systems Ltd. (TASE: HOT) and Delek Israel Fuel Corporation Ltd. (TASE: DLKIS) CEO David Kaminitz is joining Sky Israel Private Equity Fund, joining managing partners Zvi Yochman and Nir Dagan. Kaminitz worked with the two men when he was CEO at HOT and 013 Barak.
Kaminitz's specific job at Sky Fund is not yet clear, but he is important recruit, given Sky Fund's apparent plans to invest in telecommunications.
Kaminitz resigned from Delek Israel two months ago, after a year in the job, due to disputes with the board of directors.
Sky Fund tried to invest in the telecommunications industry a year ago, and was a potential buyer for 012 Smile Telecom Ltd., which was ultimately sold to Yossi Maiman-controlled Ampal-American Israel Corporation (Nasdaq: AMPL; TASE:AMPL). Sky Fund also sought to become a partner in satellite broadcast DBS Satellite Services (1998) Ltd. (YES) and in Internet portal Walla Communications Ltd. (TASE: WALA). Kaminitz, who has many connections in the industry, should be able to contribute his experience to help Sky Fund realize its telecommunications sector plans.
