Intel named favorite high-tech workplace

A BDI survey found that Israel's high-tech employees prefer to work for global firms rather than start-ups.

Intel Israel Ltd. and Google Israel Ltd. are the best companies to work for in 2010, say high-tech workers according to BDI Coface. The survey of thousands of employees at scores of high-tech companies also found fairly high job satisfaction. For the first time, non technology companies made the list of best places to work for.

Intel Israel topped the rankings, the same position it won in the BDI general survey of best place to work for, published in May. Google Israel recovered the second place, after falling to fourth place last year. HP Israel Ltd. is in third place, Microsoft Israel Ltd. joined the top five by rising to fourth place from seventh place last year, and IBM Israel Ltd. is in fifth place.

The survey found that high-tech employees prefer to work for international companies rather than start-ups. Employees prefer sound companies with job security, even if the company's core business is not necessarily technology.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) entered the top ten best high-tech company to work for, for the first time. Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) closed the top ten list, up three places from last year, and Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) (TASE: ELEC.B22) is in 13th place.
