Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch: The judges were chosen on the basis of their knowledge and experience in the field, and management of legal proceedings.

Judges Danya Kareth Meyer, Chaled Kabub, and Ruth Ronnen have been appointed to serve on the new economic court, which will open in the Tel Aviv District Court on December 15.

Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch today notified Tel Aviv District Court President Judge Dvora Berliner of the three appointments, following consultations with her.

Beinisch said that the judges were chosen on the basis of their knowledge and experience in the field, as well as their management of legal proceedings. They will also help establish the new court.

Belying expectations, and despite recommendations to Beinisch, she decided not to appoint Tel Aviv District Court Judge Michal Agmon, who is considered an expert in economic affairs. Beinisch also decided not to appoint Tel Aviv District Court Judge Amiram Benyamini.
