Bezeq wins Home Front Command emergency tender

The tender is worth NIS 1 million a year over three years.

Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) has won the IDF Home Front Command tender for the rapid deployment during emergencies of an advanced communications network at distribution centers. Most telecommunications operators bid in the tender, which is worth NIS 1 million a year over three years.

Home Front Command will store servers at Bezeq's data center. The servers will be linked to hundreds of distribution sites during an emergency and to 70 on normal days. The communications networks that the Home Front Command will receive will be based on high-speed wireless networks at distribution centers that Bezeq will supply, so that Home Front Command can set up the networks as fast as possible.

Bezeq was picked because of its proven distribution and ability to reach anywhere in Israel quickly.

Bezeq's share price rose 0.6% by midday to NIS 8.89, giving a market cap of NIS 23.67 billion.
