Bynet Semech (Outsourcing), DIY chain Home Center unit Home Cellular, and T2T Communications received licenses.
Minister of Communications Moshe Kahlon today signed three more mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) licenses to Bynet Semech (Outsourcing) Ltd., DIY chain Home Center unit Home Cellular Ltd., and T2T Communications Ltd.
Kahlon has said in the past that he prefers the MVNOs to reach agreements with the mobile carriers to lease their infrastructures, otherwise he will intervene and set prices and terms in order to provide service to the public as soon as possible.
The Ministry of Communications believes that the entry of more operators will increase competition in the mobile market. The ministry has received 12 requests for MVNO licenses. It has already issued four: to department store New Hamashbir Lazarchan Ltd. (TASE:MSZB) unit 365 Telecom Ltd.; Free Telecom Ltd.; Ituran Location and Control Ltd. (Nasdaq:ITRN); TASE:ITRN) unit Ituran Cellular Communication Ltd.; and to independent supermarket Rami Levi Chain Stores Hashikma Marketing 2006 Ltd. (TASE:RMLI).
