Djukanovic earlier met President Shimon Peres to discuss closer bilateral economic and political relations. They discussed Middle Eastern policy issues, including Israel's negotiations with the Palestinians and Iran's nuclear program.

Djukanovic told Peres, "Israeli businesspeople will be welcomed in Montenegro. We're planning intensive development in the coming years, and we'll be pleased for Israelis to take part."
