Chain Drug Review picked Super-Pharm ahead of Walgreens and Boots.
Trade magazine "Chain Drug Review" has picked Israel's Super-Pharm Ltd. as the best pharmacy chain in the world in 2010. The company beat US chain Walgreen Company (NYSE: WAG) and UK chain Boots.
Super-Pharm also operates chains in Poland, China, and Trinidad. It uses the same logo and some of the same private-label brands, such as Life and LifeStyle, as Canada's Shoppers Drugs Mart Corporation (TSX: SC), where Murray Koffler got his start.
Super-Pharm founder Murray Koffler said, "When I founded Super-Pharm more than 30 years ago, I never dreamed that it would be such a success story. There is no question that this is not the success of just one man, but of a team of thousands of employees, beginning with the employees in the stores who are responsible for day-to-day contact with our customers, and up to the company's executives, who set the vision and lead Super-Pharm to impressive achievements year after year."
