Nazareth to get 140-room hotel

NPO manager Ziad Omri won an Israel Land Administration tender for a site for the hotel.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that Ziad Omri, the general manager of Rand Institution, which operates schools, kindergartens, old age homes, and other social services, will build a four-star 140-room hotel in Nazareth at an investment of NIS 70 million.

In March, Omri won an Israel Land Administration tender for a seven-dunam (1.75-acre) lot on the road between Nazareth and Upper Nazareth on land in the jurisdiction of the Nazareth Municipality near the government complex for the area. The site has an approved plan from 2001, and has been rezoned from residential to hotel use.

There are several hotels in the Nazareth area, including the five-star Nazareth Illit Plaza and Nazareth Golden Crown, and the four-star Rimonim Springs, as well as two and three-star hotels.
