Clal Insurance Enterprises Holdings Ltd. (TASE: CLIS) subsidiary Clal Health Ltd. is launching innovative health insurance products that offer discounts to customers who begin to maintain a healthy lifestyle. In effect, the company is encouraging policyholders to actively improve their health.
Clal Health says that the logic behind the incentives is the health gap between people who maintain healthy lifestyles and people who don’t. "Even though no actuarial data has been collected on this, I have no doubt that people who live a healthier life over time tend to meet surgeons less," said Clal Health CEO Reuven Kaplan.
Clal Health is launching its "Health Pays" plan, a package of incentives to policyholders to live healthier lifestyles, which offers a discount on premiums of up to 20%. The benefit, which is subject to several health criteria, will be initially offered only to new customers. The company said that it intends to create solutions for current policyholders.
