The Israel Government Press Office (GPO) has opened a Facebook page, following the launch of its Twitter account. The Facebook page includes press releases, announcements about press briefings and tours for foreign correspondents, information about current affairs.
The Twitter account, GPOTwitter, offers notices from articles about Israel from the Israeli and global press, and about current affairs in Israel and the region.
GPO director Oren Helman said, "The new media is an inseparable part of the GPO's operations. We will expand our new media operations with bloggers and other fields."
