Mobile search co Do@ raises $7m

Do@ claims that its iPhone application revolutionizes how people search for information via mobile devices.

Mobile search application developer Do@ Ltd. has raised $7 million in its first financing round led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, bringing the total amount raised by the company to $8.7 million. BRM Capital, DFJ Tamir Fishman Ventures Ltd. (TASE: TFVC) and angel investor Yaniv Golan invested in Do@'s seed round.

Do@ is one of five Israeli start-ups that unveiled their products at yesterday's TechCrunch Disrupt New York conference. Do@ claims that its iPhone application revolutionizes how people search for information via mobile devices.

The application can search by applications directly, rather than by Internet links, and displays the results by HTML5-based Webapps. For example, a search for a particular song will show results from YouTube, Pandora, or Last.fm, or a search for a particular product will show results on e-commerce sites, such as Amazon.com or eBay.

Ami Ben David, Rami Kesterstein, and Joey Simhon founded Do@ in 2010.
