Alvarion launches 4G networks in Uganda, Mozambique

The company teamed with Fortis Telecom.

Alvarion Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALVR; TASE: ALVR) and Foris Telecom Global Ltd. have launched 4G mobile networks in Mozambique and Uganda. The companies did not disclose the size of the deal.

The network will provide broadband connectivity to residential and business users as well as local municipalities.

Alvarion president and CEO Eran Gorev noted that the company has over 70 commercial 4G deployments in Africa.

Alvarion's share price fell 7.9% on Nasdaq yesterday to $1.40, giving a market cap of $81 million, and fell 2.4% by mid-afternoon on the TASE today to NIS 4.88.
