"Globes" maintains lead as most popular Israel business site

Both Google Trends and TNS/Teleseker reported that "Globes" led the business site field ahead of "TheMarker" and "Calcalist".

The "Globes" website is maintaining its lead as Israel's most popular business news site, according to Google Trends for May 2011. According to Google Trends, the entire Internet sector woke up last month, following a drop during the Passover holiday in April.

Google Trends found that "Globes" led Israel's economic websites with 105,000-140,000 unique users per day during May, followed by "TheMarker", with 80,000-110,000 unique users per day, "Calcalist" with 60,000-75,000, and "Bizportal", with 55,000-60,000.

The TNS/Teleseker survey for May also shows "Globes" maintaining its lead as Israel's premier business news site, with a 16% weekly exposure rate, 25% higher than in April. "TheMarker's" weekly exposure rate was 15% in May and "Calcalist's" weekly exposure rate was 16.4%.

Google Trends also indicates that Facebook is the most popular website in Israel, with 1.5 million unique users per day in May, a substantial lead over second place Walla!, with 750,000 unique users and ynet with 750,000-900,000. The number of unique users on Facebook has jumped 330% since January 2009.
