Elbit unit Elisra will supply hundreds of personal locator beacons to the French Air Force, Army, and Navy.
Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) subsidiary Elisra Electronic Systems Ltd. has won a €5 million contract from France's Ministry of Defense to supply hundreds of personal locator beacons for the French Air Force, Army, Navy, and DGA (Direction générale de l’armement). Deliveries will be made over two years.
Elisra won a tender for the contract for the search and rescue (SAR) beacons, for which France's INEO Défense is prime contractor. Elisra's AN/PRC-684 beacon is one of the few beacons on the market with voice functions.
Elbit Systems' share price rose 0.8% on Friday on Nasdaq to $47, giving a market cap of $2 billion, and rose 1.1% to NIS 164.10 in morning trading on the TASE today.
